Freshman

This year was just a begining for me. First time being in the real workouts, first time racing in the real races, no more of the short middle school boys and girls races. I really started here, I was able to run with the first people to really make this team become nationally noticed. That was awesome for me to see and it really inspired me to be that much more of a better runner. Also during this year I broke the Freshman Records at my school in the 800m, 1600m, and the 3200m.

Sophmore

This year I was really apart of the Varsity team. For cross country I was mainly 6th guy, but sometimes 5th. I really was able to learn a lot from all of the seniors and really connect with them. We took Region and State and I metaled in some of the races which was kind of a new thing for me. Then, in track I was one of the top 4 distance guys on the team and was scoring points every race. I really improved on my times, but not enough to get any class or school records. But, I did individually win a race and that was awesome. I qualified for the 3200m and 1600m at state and took 3rd and 5th. And it was really a good improvement from last year.

Three miles in the morning to Hidden Valley.

This afternoon's run was through the Super Bowl to Rainbow Road. It was super hot and we eventually made it to the Park to cool off for a bit, we then continued on our run. 8x100m strides.

3 miles in the morning.

2 mile warm-up, basically 1 mile race, and a work out of 2x5:00min hard. Then,  a cool down. Today was an awesome race, my team was really awesome. Josh Thatcher, Tanner Sharp, and Myself were stacked up against Jaiden Melendrez, Sage Ducote, and Spencer Ford. My team put me in an amazing spot just behind Spencer, and I had to push to keep up right on his hip. As, we were coming to a finish and Spencer was ging for a finish, I pushed up with him and because I didn't get the baton at the same time as Spencer and a kept the same space away from Spencer the whole time. We tie the leg, but his team ended up beating my team.

Today was the SUU Invite, and it also was my second varsity race ever. We got off the bus and with little time the JV girls got little time to warm-up, and the varsity boys had about 2 hours. Everyone had really great races. We warmed up to the dollar store, and had plenty of time to get some good times in. As the race start we had Tommy and the rest of the Hype Squad cheered for us as we started racing. I kept with Josh for the first lap and then tried to go up with Sage and Spencer, but used the energy elsewhere and probably should have used it then. Second lap, still in fourth, I headed through the forest area and then the cement part. At about that time Josh past me and Tanner not far behind. 300m further Tanner and Mckade past me and I still had one more lap left. I kept trying to go a little faster to catch Tanner and push up to get that fifth spot. The last lap, I started going hard, and I hit the trail and my Team started cheering and I felt the energy and kept pushing. Nick Hill past me, and we had 800m left. Dallen Gillespie passed me, I couldn't get pushed back that far. I gave everything I had to push back and pass Dallen. 8th overall with a time of 16:24. 6th on the team. Live for another race.
