Freshman
This year was just a begining for me. First time being in the real workouts, first time racing in the real races, no more of the short middle school boys and girls races. I really started here, I was able to run with the first people to really make this team become nationally noticed. That was awesome for me to see and it really inspired me to be that much more of a better runner. Also during this year I broke the Freshman Records at my school in the 800m, 1600m, and the 3200m.

Sophmore
This year I was really apart of the Varsity team. For cross country I was mainly 6th guy, but sometimes 5th. I really was able to learn a lot from all of the seniors and really connect with them. We took Region and State and I metaled in some of the races which was kind of a new thing for me. Then, in track I was one of the top 4 distance guys on the team and was scoring points every race. I really improved on my times, but not enough to get any class or school records. But, I did individually win a race and that was awesome. I qualified for the 3200m and 1600m at state and took 3rd and 5th. And it was really a good improvement from last year.

6 miles total this afternoon. We played the Card Game. 3200m total of hill repeats. 2-4 = 100m 5-7 = 200m 8-10 = 300m Jack-Ace = 400m. We ended up doing something like 400 100 400 100 400 100 400 100 400 400 300 200. Lot of fun, my foot was feeling a little tight today though.

| Ran the workout on the Weber High track. 2 mile warmup, 2x200m, strides, 8x400m, 1 mile cool down. Felt good, a little out of breath from the elevation, but overall good. I was supposed to hit 1:08-1:12. I actually hit 1:02, 1:14, 1:11, 1:11, 1:11, 1:10, 1:09, 1:06.

This afternoon was the race against Pine View. First did a 2.5 mile warmup, calisthenics, Strides, then Raced. Felt good for the first mile didn't go out hard but stayed close enough to keep the goal in sight. At he one mile I was 10-20ft behind the front pack. And they started going hard, I just focused on my stride (leaning forward, not hill striking, stuff like that) and also focused on Scott Sandberg and Dallen Gilespie. Once I got to the bridge with the corn stalk on it I was right behind Dallen and just passed Scott. At about 800m I said to myself that I need to go now if I wanted to get Dallen and Nick. I kicked with everything I had and it payed off. Caught Dallen with 300m left and Nick with 100m left. Got fifth behind four of my other teammates. Great race from everyone!

| We warmed up around the course, and got ready to race. The race started and we went out hard. It was good the we were all right next to each other through 600m. And at 1 mile I was at 4:55 and that was where I wanted to be. The 2nd mile wasn't as good. And the 3rd mile was a little bit better. That is all I really have to say about the race. And next year will be different.
