Freshman

This year was just a begining for me. First time being in the real workouts, first time racing in the real races, no more of the short middle school boys and girls races. I really started here, I was able to run with the first people to really make this team become nationally noticed. That was awesome for me to see and it really inspired me to be that much more of a better runner. Also during this year I broke the Freshman Records at my school in the 800m, 1600m, and the 3200m.

1600m PR :  4:36 (Desert Hills Invitational)

Sophmore

This year I was really apart of the Varsity team. For cross country I was mainly 6th guy, but sometimes 5th. I really was able to learn a lot from all of the seniors and really connect with them. We took Region and State and I metaled in some of the races which was kind of a new thing for me. Then, in track I was one of the top 4 distance guys on the team and was scoring points every race. I really improved on my times, but not enough to get any class or school records. But, I did individually win a race and that was awesome. I qualified for the 3200m and 1600m at state and took 3rd and 5th. And it was really a good improvement from last year.

Today was the 2nd Michigan of the Year. The Michigan goes as Follows 1600m on the track, mile on the road, 1200m on the track, mile on the road, 800m on the track, mile on the road, then the Legendary All-Out 400m to finish the workout.

6 miles total this afternoon. We played the Card Game. 3200m total of hill repeats. 2-4 = 100m 5-7 = 200m 8-10 = 300m Jack-Ace = 400m. We ended up doing something like 400 100 400 100 400 100 400 100 400 400 300 200. Lot of fun, my foot was feeling a little tight today though.

8 miles this morning, 5 by myself and then joined some of the team for the last three. My foot felt a lot better today than it did yesterday.

Ran the workout on the Weber High track. 2 mile warmup, 2x200m, strides, 8x400m, 1 mile cool down. Felt good, a little out of breath from the elevation, but overall good. I was supposed to hit 1:08-1:12. I actually hit 1:02, 1:14, 1:11, 1:11, 1:11, 1:10, 1:09, 1:06.
